FrizzLit Happy Hour

Saturday, June 1, 4-6 pm, with Symphony of Sentences at 5 pm

This event has passed.

Bring a sentence written by Herman Melville to this FrizzLit happy hour, for a live Symphony of Sentences.

Or, bring a sentence written by Blaise Agüera y Arcas, author of a mind-blowing and lasvishly illustrated new book on the human species called Who Are We Now?

Blaise presented some of the findings about gender that are published in Who Are We Now? during FrizzLit's Orlando book club in 2021.

His previous book is a genre-defying novella called Ubi Sunt.

If you do not have a sentence by Herman or Blaise, we'll have a stack of them on notecards for you to choose from.

In addition to the live Symphony, we will also play whist and do a few rounds of literary trivia. Trivia categories are: Herman Melville, Virginia Woolf, and Blaise's book Who Are We Now?

If you are not already familiar with Blaise’s work, check out his TED Talks.

Blaise is a Vice President and Fellow at Google Research. He has written widely at the intersections of machine intelligence, art, ethics, and social science.

There is a $20 minimum on food or drink per person at this happy hour. STELLA.'s Aperitivo menudinner menu will both available.

Both Blaise's books and Herman Melville's book of stories will be on sale from Elliott Bay Book Company at this event.

Additionally, we will be announcing the late-summer and early-fall book club selections for FrizzLit, and those titles will also be available.
