Writing Camp for Beginners
Sundays at 10am PST, November 8th - 29th
In this relaxed, wide-ranging class for aspiring writers of prose, we will look at a variety of great writing and mine it for inspiration and guidance. In addition to close readings and writing exercises, we will talk about the art of fiction and memoir, and about the business of nonfiction and journalism.
If you choose the $75 option, you will get to attend the four classes in a row, two hours a week, on Sundays, 10 am to noon PST. You will also be given multiple writing exercises you can finish on your own. For some students, information and inspiration are all they are looking for. If you can't make it in person, that's okay: Everyone with a ticket will get a recording sent to them each week.
If you are looking for feedback on your own writing, the $300 option comes with four email exchanges with the instructor, Christopher Frizzelle, once a week, about your writing from class. You may be invited to read your writing aloud at a class session.
Students who sign up for the $300 track will also get a one-on-one, 10-minute Zoom call with the instructor at the conclusion of the four weeks, to talk about your particular gifts and what next steps you might want to take with your writing.
