Select Short Film Program

Available to stream 6pm January 29 - February 7, 2021

This event has passed.

The 20th Anniversary of Bicycle Film Festival is going virtual! BFF Philadelphia includes a Bicycle Film Festival (BFF) Select Shorts Program (90 min runtime) as well as a panel discussion hosted by the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia.

How does the virtual Bicycle Film Festival work?
A ticket allows you to view the 90-minute short film format and speakers' panel any time from January 29, 6pm through February 7th, 2021 streamed to your computer, tablet, or smart TV by simply clicking on the link provided by email after you purchase. Ticket prices are sliding scale; so all ticket prices entitle you to the same content. You may view BFF in one sitting, or as you will, from the comfort and safety of your home.

BFF Select Shorts Program: Bicycle Film Festival has been celebrating bicycles through art, film and music the last 20 years. Circling the globe, the physical BFF has traveled to over 90 cities worldwide to an audience of over one million people. We invite you to join the BFF tradition and enjoy the show! BFF Philadelphia Program will appeal to a wide audience from film connoisseurs to avid cyclists and everything in between. Let the BFF curated collection of short films take you on a journey around the world as we learn about a charismatic Ghanian immigrant in Amsterdam who teaches refugee adult women to ride bikes - experience a birds-eye view of a BLM bicycle protest ride from New York to DC - feel the anguish of a father's loss - the struggle of a young woman and her bike in Iran - and reprieve from genocide through cycle sport.

Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia panel discussion (airing after the film program):
Through advocacy and education, the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia leads the movement to make bicycling a safe and fun way to get around for anyone in Greater Philadelphia. Panel Topic - "Cyclists of All Shapes, Shades and Stripes:"  Equity and Inclusion in Philadelphia Cycling. Bike folks from a variety of spaces (advocacy, youth development, competitive & social riding, etc) will share their perspectives on the creative and inspiring equity and inclusion work happening in Philadelphia cycling communities.

Short video (airing before the film program): Philly's Great for Cycling: From being the home of the Philadelphia Bike Expo, one of the largest cycling trade shows in the US, to the home of famous framebuilders old and new alike, there are so many reasons why #phillyisgreatforcycling. Hear from some bastions of Philly bike culture in this series of short interviews that will leave you feeling stoked on the Philly bike scene (as if you're not already!)
