These films capture the spirit of street, youth, fixed gear, BMX, and messenger cultures from passionate cyclists in cities around the world. The Urban Bike program is a popular tradition at the BFF for the past 22 years.


EBRO Dir. Ian Bartlett | USA  EBRO (Everybody’s Rideout) is a bicycle takeover and one of the nation's largest and most anticipated street riding events on the BIKELIFE calendar attracting riders from across America and overseas. Riders of all ages, gender, and race descend upon NYC every September for a family reunion with this high energy wheeling community.

BROOKLYN RED CAPS Dir. Jasia Kaulbach ⎮ USA 5min. Otis Hughes was the 73 year-old captain of the Brooklyn Red Caps, one of the first Black cycling teams. This multi-generational group of cyclists at all levels gets together every week in Prospect Park.

JOYRIDER Dir. Dan Anders Carrigan ⎮ Sweden 5min. Tag along with bike courier, Josef in a trip along the inner streets and thoughts of central Stockholm.

ONLY IN TOLEDO Dir. Dan Lior | USA 3min. DeShawn Willis tried to open up a landscaping business Toledo, Ohio. With no financial means to fix his vehicle, he came up with a creative way to get around.

SNOW WARRIOR Dir. Kurt Spenrath & Frederick Kroetsch ⎮ Canada 8min. A young woman faces the challenge of being a bike courier in a frozen northern city.

RARE DM - SEND NUDES Dir. Jordan Taylor Fuller, Erin Hoagg ⎮ USA 5min. Self-recorded by musician Rare DM while riding her bike during the toughest moments of the pandemic lockdown in New York then stitched together with footage captured by Jordan Taylor Fuller.
