SHIFT: THE RAGBRAI DOCUMENTARY (dir. Kelsey Kremer, Courtney Crowder)
RAGBRAI - short for Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa - is a non-competitive bicycle tour across the state of Iowa from the western to eastern border. First held in 1973, RAGBRAI is the largest bike-touring event in the world. Through ground-breaking photography and intimate interviews with bicyclists and community leaders, this documentary follows the cyclists pushing themselves to their limits and changing their lives in the course of a weekend. (61min.)
TO MANAUS (dir. Jose Antonio Guayasamin)
In 1998, 38 students between the ages of 13 and 18 decided to travel South America by bicycle, without any additional support, day and night to reach the Amazon River in the rainforest of Manaus. For more than 4 months they pedal 5500km to accomplish their feat by traveling through Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, and Brazil. This documentary was made 20 years after their pursuit. (30min.)
0530: RIDING IN THE DARK (dir. Griffin Hart Davis, Wes Salisbury)
One of North Carolina’s road cycling groups, 0530, creates bonds among their riders - both on and off the bike offer life - giving support when it's needed most. Take a peek inside the 0530 cycling group as they navigate the Covid pandemic together and see their founder through the toughest uphill battle of his life. (28min.)
