Part 1: Suspension lines with Blue Spruce Kinbaku

Class description: Everything from hanger to hardpoint! This class will cover uplines,
the main load bearing vertical lines that run between a harness and a suspension point.
Being the only thing keeping gravity from winning in a suspension, strong hangers, good
handling practices, and solid lock-offs are a safety must.
This is an individual-based class: you will not need a partner to participate. We will not
be fully suspending any humans in this class, but it is a lead-in to other classes on rope
suspension.
We will cover: choosing a loading line: rope types and wear considerations, hanger
options: when and where to use them -to biner or not to biner and how to save your
bight, setting up the pulley system, safe handling for raising and lowering the uplines:
how to use friction to your advantage, Lockoffs: single point, bamboo, and hanger side,
finishing the leftover ends, common things that can go wrong and best practices to
recover
Prerequisites/materials: any single column tie, no partner component, 2+ ropes
suspension rated preferred (such as posh/hempex/quality nylon/new, larger diameter
jute or hemp), and bringing multiple different kinds to try out is encouraged., Safety
